A Vet for Queen Anne

North over the bridge. A little further than the clinics in town, and a great deal easier to park at.

The reception area at The Family Pet

Queen Anne is the furthest of the neighborhoods we regularly see, and getting here is simple enough: north on 15th Ave W, over the Ballard Bridge, and keep going. We’re a short way north of Market on the east side.

Why People Drive Past Closer Clinics

They tell us two reasons, and neither is about medicine.

Parking. Ours is free street parking on quiet side streets, a short walk from the door. If you have taken a large dog to a clinic with a parking garage, or circled a block in Lower Queen Anne with a cat yowling in the back, you already understand why this is on the list at all.

Time in the appointment. We are a family-owned practice, not a corporate group, and the appointment length reflects that. There is room in a visit to ask the second question, and the one after it. People who have been through a few clinics notice this quickly, and it’s the single thing we’re told most often by clients who came from somewhere busier.

Worth Knowing About the Bridge

The Ballard Bridge is a drawbridge and it opens for boats. It usually costs you nothing, and occasionally it costs you ten minutes. For a routine visit it doesn’t matter. For a surgery drop-off or anything with a hard deadline, leave a cushion — and if it catches you, call us rather than hurrying.

The RapidRide D Line runs from Lower Queen Anne over the bridge and the length of 15th, which many of our clients use instead of driving.

What We Do for Queen Anne Pets

Everything a general practice should, under one roof, which is the point of the drive: wellness exams with time in them, dentistry with full-mouth radiographs, soft-tissue surgery with a dedicated anesthesia monitor, in-house bloodwork and imaging so most answers come back during the visit, and same-day sick appointments we hold back every day we’re open.

If you’re thinking about moving, we’re taking new clients and we’ll request your records for you.
