Dr. DeGhetto is originally from New Jersey and went to veterinary school at Colorado State University. She completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at VCA in Los Angeles.
She worked for PAWS Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and for ten years did contract work for the National Marine Mammal Laboratory in Alaska, Washington, and California, studying diseases of fur seals and sea lions. After the birth of her third child she returned to small animal medicine, and has worked for the Seattle Animal Shelter, the PAWS small animal shelter, and Banfield Pet Hospital.
She enjoys hiking, skiing, cycling, and trail running. At home she has two small dogs (one a 17-year-old Papillon), a 29-year-old ornate box turtle, and two talkative budgies.
